IMPORTANT: As of 2011 all Cub Scout and Boy scout registered leaders must complete Youth Protection Training. This training is valid for 2 years, but be careful that it does not expire before the next recharter year.
Cub Scout Training for Leaders
All Leaders of Pack 431 should be trained in order to provide the safest, best and most complete scouting experience possible for the boys.

As you all should know, Everyone must complete Youth Protection Training and it must remain current after the end of the year in order for you to be recharted (reregistered) as a leader.

Note: You DO NOT need to be registered with BSA in order to take Youth Protection Training. You can update your profile with your registration number once you receive it.

Becoming a Trained Leader |
Becoming a Trained Leader further enchances your ability to provide the best possible experience for the scouts. By Becoming a Trained Leader, you can wear the "Trained" patch on your Class A uniform.

To earn the Trained patch, you must complete the following 3 online training courses.

Instructor Led training provides hands on training at local locations, providing you with the complete training experience. Before becoming a Trained Leader, it is recommended that you attend at least one Instructor Led Training Course.

Cub Scout Pow-Wow (annual January)
Pow-Wow is a great days worth of training, where you select which "classes" to attend. Registration is usually around $25, but well worth the money.

University of Scouting (annual March)
UOS is normally a half day training opportunity held outside. As with Pow-Wow you get to choose your classes at registration. The hours logged during UOS training count towards your varying levels of scouting degree. Cost is around $15 with discounts for registering early.

Roundtables (Monthly)
Monthly Roundtables - The Four Peaks District Roundtable is held the first Thursday of each month and begins at 7:00 PM (except for July). They are held at the Thunderbird LDS Chapel located at 3010 East Thunderbird Road. Please see the district calendar for the scheduled training topic
Wood badge (Throughout the year)
Wood Badge is a more advanced training opportunity which spans an entire week or two long weekends with Patrol Meetings between them. Additional work is required after the training in order to achieve wood badge status. Cost od Wood Badge is approximately $215 which includes the accommodation and food.
